I thought I would share a couple of insights from my week 2 of doing diary. I have mixed things up a bit this week after reflecting on last week and so far so good.*Loving the morning duo-lingo learning and then meditation. My brain is fresh in the morning so I am getting up at 530, then starting exercise at 630 after brain time is done. (I have a coffee during language lesson!)*I can see a real drop in productivity/enthusiasm from about 12-3pm, an insight that wasn't available two weeks ago.
What's changed with who I am being and how that has impacted my doing?
- Setting up boundaries around my time.
- Uncovering stories and beliefs that weren't helping me at all
- Higher awareness of my own needs and thoughts (I totally knew that I am always aware of what others need, but now I am able to be aware of myself and take care of myself)
Changes in my doing:
- Planning ahead in a more realistic way, adjusting that plan as the week goes and some surprises appear! >> less anxiety and less time wondering what to do next or procrastinating
- I am more productive and focused
- I get things done
- I move them when I need to
- I am less reactive (no more answering to every single chat message, I even asked my colleagues to write things in the different Teams Channels rather than in the chat so I have less interruptions, they weren't super happy about that but it's working now)
I thought I was already in touch with my habits and beliefs -- but have realised through PACE how those powerful lousy stories manage to creep back in to 'run the show.' I have found 5-7 hours in my week that i wasn't consciously aware of before and my productivity has increased 50-60% overall.
My 30 day goal was to complete tasks 100% before starting the next. I have a tendency to skip around and become sidetracked instead of finishing things properly. Im happy to share that Ive committed to this and I now I have the awareness to catch myself mid task thinking about doing something else. I simply notice, pause and complete what is in front of me, fully. My awareness continues to grow and Im being so much more efficient overall. That is a great feeling.
